“We used to think that everything that happens can only be influenced by what happens right around it. The phenomenon of entanglement questions our basic understanding of what is real. It seems to be telling us that we cannot think that the world is made by objects with their own properties located in space and time. How can something instantaneously influence something else which is far away? Maybe the world is not really as structured in space as it looks? … Are there subtle connections between different locations in space and time that we had so far missed? We do not know.
